During 1500-1800, Lampung province is occupied by Kesultanan Banten. Sultan Ageng Tirtayasaâ€™s territory then was given to Netherlands by Bantenâ€™s prince, Lampung Province was included also, after Netherlands helped him to fight Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa. This request was stated on a letter dated on March 12th 1682 for Major Issac de Saint Martin (the admiral of VOC ship which landed at Banten) from Sultan Haji. The letter was also supported by an agreement (on August 22nd, 1682) allowing VOC to gain monopoly right of pepper trading in Lampung. At that time, Lampung was the main producer of peppers. Thatâ€™s why many countries in Europe were attracted to go to Lampung for it was believed that whoever controlled spices would be able to control the world.

Radin Inten II (Branti) is a domestic airport that serves the city of Bandar Lampung in Lampung, Indonesia. The name is taken from Radin Inten II, the last Sultan of Lampung.
The airport is located on the Jalan Branti Raya in Branti, 22km north west of Bandar Lampung in the South Lampung regency. From Radin Inten II (Branti) airport you can take a prepaid taxi to the city. A taxi to the town is about Rp. 120,000.
You can also walk 200m to the main road to get on a Rajabusa bound bus (Rp. 2,000). There you can transfer to another bus which will take you to Lampung.
